The Best Winter Boots (2) Plain Text

Simply Possibly the Best Wintertime Boot Ever!

Are you an avid out-of-doors person looking for the best winter shoes available? Consider the Columbia Bugathermo shoes with the world's first built-in heat. No matter what conditions you might encounter in the open the Bugathermo can match them head on to keep you warm and toasty. Long gone are the days of ice cold foot and miserable dispositions. Spending lots of time outside, I have tried many winter boots throughout the years as most of us have. Some are good but none have actually been great. However, last 12 months all of that changed when I found out about the Columbia Bugathermo. Getting my hands on a pair of those was no small feat as they sold out quickly over the country. But my persistence paid off in dividends. Now, down to the nitty-gritty for the key features and exactly why I think these are the most readily useful cold temperatures boots.

Columbia Bugathermo Collection

Exterior Features

The Nubuck split fabric uppers are waterproof, however I treated mine with Nikwax and let cure of twenty four hours before taking out fully into the weather when I always do. The cut is sufficient to keep out the snow however if you need to need to connect a gaiter there is certainly a convenient rustproof hook on top of the boot. Also, each of the hardware regarding the boot is rustproof which can be sure to boost the longevity. The lacing system is what is known as a Speed Lace. Permitting for a convenient easy entry and exit with a simple, quick motion. I wore these many times before they broke in and the movement became second nature. The mid sole comprises of a proprietary material known as Techlite. Its injection molded with a supportive nylon shank for additional help and made the boots feel stiff until I got utilized to it. The outsole offers lugged, dual density traction patterns that Columbia calls Omni Grip. It conforms to ice and snow which allows for a stable platform. Certain to rival any Vibram sole available on the market that I have sworn by for years. I thought the sole done well and it never felt just as if I didn't have sure footing. I'm perhaps not typically clumsy and rarely slip on the ice so true to form We had no major close calls this year with your shoes either. I call that a win for the Omni Grip.

Columbia Boot Tech

Built In Heating Element System

An innovative 3 temperature heating system operates off of a rechargeable lithium battery which is sold with an easy-to-use USB adaptor which you can connect straight into the wall surface socket or charge from your computer similar to your cellular phone. Make sure to follow most of the guidelines before using and recharging for the first time to benefit from and receive the perfect performance. The lowest environment is reported to provide up to 8 hours of heat in extreme cold. My feet stayed warm and cozy in below freezing heat conditions and since I have was able to manage the settings directly i came across that they did not get extremely hot sufficient to cause them to sweat even as my activity level increased. I do recommend using a synthetic sock though with moisture wicking properties as well as pre-heating the boots at least 5 minutes prior to going down within the frigid cold.

Interior Features

The inside of the boots contain 200g of Thinsulate along with a thermal insulation technology that Columbia calls Omni Heat. That is a patented system that actually works with yours body to offer superior heat management. The dotted lining assists to manage temperature by reflecting and keeping the heat your system generates but helps to dissipate extra moisture while keeping a high level of breathability. Columbia states that 50% of the content is recycled and will retain 20% heat on average. Those are some stats I'm able to get behind. The anatomical contoured footbeds contain Techlite for additional cushioning and comfort while providing shock absorption. They also have been addressed with a microbial AgION anti-odor agent to prevent smelly build and the like. We never felt like my feet were damp which is key in keeping them warm as well as the footbeds provided much needed support and stability. After many hours I didn't experience sore or tired foot like so many other hiking boots, or any pinching regarding the pressure spots. The toe box was comfortable and spacious whereas the heel ended up being slender and snug. I did not experience any slippage and since the cut is rather high, just above the ankle, I felt supported at all times and kept any nasty elements from increasing easily.

My Outcomes

My final conclusion, the shoes were exceedingly lightweight, waterproof/breathable, comfortable, warm and easy to quickly placed on and take off. Therefore this is just why I am placing these at the most effective of record for the best winter boots available on the market today. Although i did so need to purchase one piece of equipment as I had been astonished why these did not come with more charging options. I acquired a car USB adaptor at my local big box store for $20. This enabled me to convert USB/DC and gave me the capacity to charge from my car's cigarette lighter. As we all understand the great outdoors do not have wall outlets and I will seldom have my laptop on excursions as that's the main basis for being outside in the first place getting away from it all. So you might want to consider picking up something similar if you intend to do any hunting, camping or climbing and need to charge your boots far from the lodge.

Personal Activities and Experience

A few of the activities I participated in while wearing the Bugathermo were: snowshoeing, sledding, Jambu, snow shoveling (not fun), snowmobiling and doggie duty. All of these involved various degrees of activity yet I found the boots performed to my objectives splendidly. Also yet another thing to notice may be the Bugathermo is offered for gents and ladies with different colors. However, women if you looking for a more streamlined heated boot, do not despair, Columbia has that covered within the ladies' Snowfall Thermo. Maybe we will get this one next and be back with a review given that they look therefore comfortable and sleek. Winter boots i've used: Montrail, Redwing, North Face, Sorel, Merrell, Blondo, Asolo, and Vasque to name several.
